If you’re waving the white flag this long, cold winter season, odds are you’ve got big plans to relax and have some fun this March Break. If you’re one of the lucky ones heading South for some beachside bliss, make sure you don’t forget about your sun-sheltered skin in your sprint to the sunshine! Wide-brimmed hats, cute cover-ups and stylish sunglasses are definite must-haves to enjoy a sun-soaked vacation in style.
Hitting the slopes instead of the beach? You’re not off the hook! Those pesky UV rays can still find you there and can easily reflect off of layers of bright snow or ice. Along with the cute new ski jacket, make sure you pack some SPF 30+ lip balm and broad spectrum sunscreen and apply to all exposed skin throughout your time in the sun.
For those of you planning a closer-to-home staycation, we haven’t forgotten about you. Same rules apply! (Well, maybe not that floppy sun hat!) Grab your sunglasses and slather on the sunscreen at least 15 minutes before heading outdoors—even on cloudy days! (Those rays have a way of finding us, even out of direct sunlight.)
Remember, it might be March Break, but that doesn’t mean you should take a break from sun safety. Play hard, relax a lot, be good to yourself and your skin. Most importantly, whatever you end up doing, stay safe and have fun!
