Well, you already know that by not protecting your skin from the harmful rays of the sun can effect that glowing complexion, but did you also know that there are a few other culprits as well?
Here are a few we’d like to tell you about:
Wearing Make-Up to Bed- is a “BIG” no- no. This is the time our bodies and skin replenish & repair themselves. So try to always remember to remove your make-up, no matter how tired you may be.
Skipping Sleep- the term "beauty sleep" is not a myth- it’s actually true. During our slumber, our body releases human growth hormone (HGH). This hormone helps the skin to heal itself and aids in allowing our skin to have a nice healthy glow.
Unhealthy Eating- avoid processed foods, eating brightly coloured fruits and veggies are rich in anti-oxidants, which help to repair your skin from any UV Damage. More good news- red wine & dark chocolate are also great too- they both contain flavonoids which help to improve skin texture and provide a stronger resistance to UV rays- how great that red wine and chocolate are such a great combination!
Smoking- terrible for the skin- nicotine not only damages the skin but actually kills it by preventing oxygen to penetrate the skin- basically, the skin can’t breath. This is especially noticeable above the lips in people who smoke, a lot of fine lines- so butt out!
So we say, throw away the smokes and grab a nice glass of cabernet along with a big chunk of dark chocolate! It’ll do your body and face good!
