We’re pretty sure this time of the year is brought to you by the letter "M"! To start off, we’re ready to lose the chilly April showers and bring on those beautiful May flowers—and all the other sunny, warm things that comes along with the month… especially the May long weekend!

M is also for Melanoma Awareness Month—this month it’s time to remind ourselves of the importance of protecting our skin against those pesky UVA/UVB rays, particularly as we all crawl out of our long winter hibernation. Melanoma is not "just" skin cancer; and it’s not only for people in year-round sunny climates to worry about.

Did you know that 1 in 63 Canadian men and 1 in 79 Canadian women is expected to develop melanoma during his or her lifetime?*

Did you know that there are some super simple things you can do to reduce the risk?

Get to know any freckles, moles, or birthmarks on your skin and watch for changes

Get in the habit of performing a regular skin self-examination—don’t forget the less-obvious places: under your fingernails, your scalp and hairline, underarms, buttocks and the soles of your feet!

If you find any new growths or markings, or notice changes in size, texture, colour, etc. of existing ones, be sure to get your health care professional to check them out!

Finally, M is for Mother’s Day! Time to celebrate all of the amazing moms in our lives with a day that’s all about them! So be sure to savour the flowers and the breakfast in bed—and be sure to recognize all of the fabulous moms you know!

Psst…Want to help mom celebrate in style this year (or leave some not-so-subtle hints for your own gift)?? Check out the Cameron Sun Shirt—super sexy and stylish, and this month enjoy 30% off PLUS free shipping! With that kind of deal, you can be sure that "M" also stands for "MINE!"
